Scope Of Work
This project provided for a new Gas Turbine Engine Test Cells Facility, which was a Base Realignment and Closure project transfer from Kelly Air Force Base, Texas, to Hill Air Force Base, Utah. The facility will test small engines used to power aircraft support systems (hydraulics, electrical, etc.) for both ground and air use. Jet engine components are also expected to be serviced at the facility. The facility consists of a concrete/precast floor, concrete walls, and built-up roofing. Individual test cells within the building have blast/acoustically insulated barrier walls, mounting platforms and frangible blast roof panels (to vent an explosion through the roof or vertical shafts). Test cells also have blast resistant doors and viewing windows. The project included all site work, support utilities, pavements, interior finishes, fire protection and heating, ventilating and air conditioning for occupancy use.
