Mark is a graduate of Virginia Tech and has been with MEB since 1983. He began as a quality control representative progressing to a project manager on projects for the Navy and Army Corp of Engineers. As current Vice President his duties include oversight of personnel, estimating, scheduling, management, administration, business development, and strategic planning. Mark has extensive experience in municipal, commercial, industrial, water treatment, and specialty construction with a primary focus on Design Build projects. Mr. Olmstead is Past District President for the Associated General Contractors of Virginia, member of the State of Virginia Board of Directors for the AGC, a certified LEED AP, and the Past President of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Design Build Institute of America DBIA.
Mr. Olmstead has personally managed over 60 successful projects in the region including the Virginia Beach Sports Center, Bauer Corporate headquarters, BlackHawk Commander Corporate Headquarters, Lake Gaston Water Treatment Plant, VIP WWTP, Ocean Beach Club II tower, OceanAire Hotel, Beechwoods resort, Virginia Zoo “Trail of the Tiger” and “Okavenga Delta” exhibits, First Naval Construction Division Headquarters (LEED PLATINUM), and the Continuous Electron Beam Accelerator Facility Data Center. Among other projects he is currently working on the Plasser American office Headquarters and Manufacturing Facility and the City of VB Renovations on Municipal buildings 1, 2, and 11.
