Scope Of Work

Liberty Warehouse was originally one of the largest tobacco trading depot’s in the United States. DesignElement was hired by East West Partners to design and fabricate an extensive interior and exterior sign package for their upscale apartment project located in Durham, NC. They were looking for a unique sign package that honored the history of the original Liberty Tobacco Warehouse that served as the property’s foundation, while reflecting the opulence of the new apartment community. DesignElement planned, designed, produced and installed an elegant sign package utilizing many of the materials salvaged from the warehouse‘s demolition, including the restoration of the original, historic projecting Liberty Warehouse sign. The interior ADA signs utilize weathered wood accents from the warehouse flooring, and many other pieces from the abandoned warehouse were used as decorative graphic accents throughout the leasing office and amenity areas.
